Ad Project
I am very excited for this ad project! This is a fun way for us to express ourselves while also bringing forth a new way to look at a certain company outside of what that company has done for themselves! I was super worried about time constraints and not knowing much about photoshop when I first read about this project but with the help of Lynda.com and Paige, my mind is at ease and excitement is now rushing in. Can't wait to show you guys what I've been working on :)

So I thought I would share this gem I just found while going through some files on my computer..this was what was going on during the "Snowpocalypse" at my house earlier this year AND also just so happens to be the only work I've ever done with Photoshop so I've got a lot of work cut out for me and I am excited to see what I can do :)
....And the winner is.....
I am going to use Vans as my company for my 3 ad-campaign :) Let's see what we can accomplish with this. Carnival was a VERY close second and I am literally making myself choose so that I don't sit here debating all day.

100 Logo Sketches
For step 2 of our logo assignment, we were asked to create 100 logo sketches based off of our 2 chosen words: 50 needed to be using a pre-set list of fonts and the other 50 needed to be illustrative sketches of our own original design. My 2 words were "fun" and "nerdy". For me, the typeset sketches were a bit harder to come up with 50 different ways to arrange my letters while making it original and fitting to my chosen words. Here are the results of my 100 sketches:
These 3 pages of 50 sketches are my typeset logo sketches. I really liked #26, #32, and #34. A couple of people from the class liked #26 and #32 as well so those are the 2 that I primarily am working with for the finished product.
The 3 pages of 50 sketches above are my illustrative sketches. My favorite is #41 and I think it was one of the class favorites as well. Paige pointed out that she liked #22 as well, so I did some work with that design also.

Logos: The Good & The Bad
This Spartan Golf Club logo is my "good" logo example. I love any type of design where you can see more than one "image" within the graphic. In this case you can see the spartan's face and helmet and you can also see a golfer swinging his golf club as well. It was executed with great precision.
The Highlight logo is my example of a "bad" logo. I HATE this logo. It is very displeasing to my eyes mostly for the fact that it hurts them. I think adding the CMKY effect to show that black as being "highlighted" not only is very literal but it also causes extreme discomfort along with making it have a "blurred" effect. Maybe had they only used one color as a highlight it may have turned out better off than this one.
